Fortunately this child is a free thinker, I know this because she'll tell me I'm unbelievably wrong at the drop of a hat. The girl would argue with Einstein about simple arithmetic and probably make him recheck his figures. Needless to say, her teacher was wasting her breath on this student.
I wish I could say that all the students were so discerning, but to listen to my children talk, most of the propaganda spouted in the classrooms is swallowed hook, line and sinker. Children enter a classroom ready to learn facts from a trusted source. When the authority figure begins to feed them an emotionally charged political opinion couched as fact, they accept it with the same vigor they accept the Gettysburg Address.
Bill Ayers, the author of Teaching for Social Justice: A Democracy and Education Reader, wrote in a letter, “That’s one of the things that’s actually annoyed me for about 40 years of being a progressive educator: the separation of the concept of progressive education from the concept of politics and political change. You can’t separate them.”
He has spent the last half of his life dedicated to teaching teachers how to teach Progressive thought to young minds. Bill Ayers holds conferences all over the United States spreading the word on Leftist Education.
Teachers often become teachers because they want to make a difference. But the Academic world has become the playground of the Leftists and they want to make their difference by training our children to be the next generation of Socialists and Marxists.
We are doing our children a disservice if we don't take issue with the blatant propaganda that is being taught in the schools. We must teach them how to tell the difference and teach them how to stand up and be heard when they see it.
